Exploring the Santa Monica Mountains (I)

at the 1/3 point of the 2.8 mile hike

Its Valentine's Day and after a morning of waffles and a valentine party complete with pink hearts and strawberry shortcakes, we set off on a hike. To be honest, we didnt know what we were getting into and the going was tough for a 4 yr old and someone pushing a buggy. It was mainly up hill over a rocky muddy uneven path and Scarlett managed well for the first half, but....wailed and dallied and gnashed her teeth for the second half. And of course, it got quite dark in the second half as that part which went deep into the canyon gorge. Well we made it and the views were great. Glad we did it!
